Troubleshooting installation of APEX

Hello
I've installed APEX on my local machine running ORACLE 11gR2 according to
the advice found in
[www.oracle.com]
and
[www.liberidu.com]
Everything seems to be fine. But when I test the connection with the browser
[hostname]
I got HTTP 400 error.
How can I
a) check if the browser is allawed to connect to the database?
b) troubleshoot the problem?
